JOB DUTIES DESCRIPTION
CHIEF INVESTIGATOR OF PUBLIC INTEGRITY UNIT
The Chief Investigator of the Public Integrity Unit’s primary responsibility is the direct investigation of complex cases. He/she is also responsible for overseeing and directing the investigation of all cases assigned to the Public Integrity Unit. The Chief Investigator has supervisory responsibilities over the investigators assigned to the Unit, and also works closely with the Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney and other attorneys assigned to the Unit.
Essential Functions:
- GA P.O.S.T Certification
- Singlehandedly investigate complex cases
- Assist in and direct the investigation of all cases in the Unit
- Locate and interview witnesses
- Write reports and case summaries in complex cases
- Collaborate with the Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney and other attorneys assigned to the Unit to investigate cases
- Meet with the District Attorney to discuss cases
- Present cases to the grand jury
- Assist the attorneys in court
- Supervise the investigators assigned to the Unit
Essential Skills
- Ability to complete sensitive investigations, involving public and elected officials and law enforcement officers, in a rapid manner
- Ability to gather information, determine facts and make a charging recommendation based on the investigative findings
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to work
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Law enforcement training and/or experience required
- Minimum of five (5) yrs investigatory experience, specifically in officer involved shooting cases and Internal Affairs complaints
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience

JOB DUTIES DESCRIPTION
ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY
CHILD SUPPORT UNIT
The child support attorney handles and prosecutes child support cases in the court system and writes motions, briefs, correspondence, and other documents to handle these types of cases. He/She also supervises a legal secretary and team of employees who process child support cases. A Child Support Unit Assistant District Attorney must be able to work independently, but also perform under the general supervision and review of the Chief ADA of the Child Support Unit.
Essential Functions:
- Draft and E-File all civil pleading to establish and enforce child support orders or cases on behalf of a government child support agency and minor children
- Conduct bench trials and/or hearings regarding paternity issues, child support orders, and arrest orders regarding collection of past due child support payments
- Thoroughly reviewing a large volume of child support cases and files, while recognizing and solving the many facets of establishing child support orders and mechanisms for enforcing the same orders
Essential Skills
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work well and professionally with a diverse clientele
- Good legal writing ability and analytical skills
- Work independently and meet deadlines for processing a large amount of work
- Familiarity with general family law issues, child support statutes, and the Georgia child support guidelines for determining or calculating monthly child support amounts
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Active membership and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
- At least two (2) years of professional legal experience
- At least 4 years of experience as a family law attorney or working with child support collections, including some civil litigation expertise.

VICTIM/WITNESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
JOB DUTIES DESCRIPTION
Entry Level
VICTIM/WITNESS ADVOCATE (Complaint Room)
The entry-level Victim/Witness Advocate acts as the first point of contact between the District Attorney’s Office and victims/witnesses. As the first point of contact, advocates are responsible for contacting victims (primarily by phone), providing information regarding the criminal justice system, notifying them of upcoming court dates, notifying them of their rights under the Victim’s Bill of Rights, making referrals for services to appropriate service providers, and providing assistance with filing Victim’s Compensation and with recovering restitution. He/She is also responsible for entering data relating to their victim contacts into the District Attorney’s Office’s database.
Essential Duties:
- Inform victims of their rights under Victims’ Bill of Rights;
- Contact victims to notify them of upcoming court dates
- Document all contacts in internal system and update any case information;
- Offer MOC services for victims, process the requests and follow-up calls;
- Initiate and monitor the process for locating victims and witnesses
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, information regarding TPO’s
- Accompany victims to court hearings and/or obtain protection orders
- Assure and document that Domestic Violence victims are referred to Partners Against Domestic Violence for appropriate services
- Provide other support services/referrals as needed
- Perform administrative tasks to support the Victim/Witness Program

- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience to sufficiently perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.

The Office of the Fulton County District Attorney is seeking an experienced Investigator. Duties and responsibilities will include gathering
evidence used in the apprehension, indictment or prosecution, and conviction
of law violators; conducting routine felony case investigations; interviewing
complainants, suspects, and witnesses involved in felony cases and evaluates
their statements; preparing investigative reports; assisting other law
enforcement agencies in the investigation of various violations; participating
in dangerous case assignments, including raids, arrests and undercover
assignments and preparing cases for hearing and trial.
This position requires knowledge of principles and practices of criminal
justice, public safety, and customer service; federal, state, and local
criminal laws and codes; court practices and procedures; methods and
techniques used to conduct criminal investigations; safe use and care
of firearms and other standard and specialized law equipment and a knowledge
of personal computers and related software. Applicant must possess the
following skills: conducting effective interviews and interrogations,
using and maintaining firearms, drawing sketches to scale, preparing
and presenting oral and written communication/reports; communication
and interpersonal techniques and applicant must be able to establish
and maintain effective working relationships with the County personnel,
officials, and the general public.
Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in a criminal justice related
field and four (4) years experience in law enforcement or in performing
