SENTENCING HEARING SCHEDULED TODAY FOR GANG MEMBERS IN BEATING OF GAY CITIZEN

State Vs.  Christopher Cain, Dorian Moragne, and Dareal Williams

Atlanta- Sentencing is scheduled for 1:00 pm for Defendants Christopher Cain, Dorian Moragne, and Dareal Williams. All three pled guilty to Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity, Robbery by Force and two counts of Aggravated Assault for attacking Brandon White.

On February 4, 2012, the three defendants viciously beat Mr. White outside the Pink Store located onMcDaniel Street. This store is a central location for members of the criminal street gang known as the Pittsburgh Jack Boys (which these members refer to as “JackCity).  The brutal attack, which was captured on surveillance video, showed Mr. White being stomped, kicked, punched and hit by the defendants as he exited the store. Throughout the attack, the defendants were heard uttering “No Faggots inJackCity.”  All three defendants were adorned in gang paraphernalia, i.e., a red bandana and a sweat shirt with the words “Jack Gang” embroidered on the back.

A fourth defendant, Javaris Bradford, was indicted and is still at-large; Bradford videotaped the beating and also encouraged the beating by uttering “No Faggots inJackCity.”          

Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford will preside over sentencing proceedings this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in courtroom 4F.
